Exchange 2010 – How to delete a mailbox when the user has been deleted from active directory?

If a user is removed from active directory before being removed from the exchange management console, you will receive an error when trying to remove the mailbox stating it cannot be removed as the user object is not found.

The error will read something like: The operation couldn’t be performed because object “your object details” couldn’t be found on “your domain details”

In order to resolve:

1). Load the Exchange Management Shell (EMS)

2). Copy the following command and hit enter: Get-MailboxDatabase | Clean-MailboxDatabase

3). Refresh the exchange console mailbox list. The entry which could not be removed should now have cleared
