28th May 2025 Westward IT announced the sale of the IT services and support division to Peninsula EvolvIT (www.evolvit.co.uk).

Commenting on the sale, Westward IT director Mat Lemmings said “we have received a number of offers for the core Westward IT business over the years and never felt the time was right to sell. With myself and (Westward IT founder) Mike Machin having finally made the decision to move on in early 2024, we’ve spent the last 15 months in discussions with a number of interested parties but EvolvIT stood head-and-shoulders above the rest in terms of their communication, capability and capacity, all of which we felt were essential characteristics in any purchaser. Over the last 16 years Westward IT has become the solution provider of choice to over 150 businesses across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset and it was vital to choose the right partner to take the business forward into the 2030’s and beyond. We’re excited to see what happens next! Whilst Mike and I are leaving the business during June 2025 we’re confident it’s being left in the best possible hands and wish EvolvIT every success for the future.”

Dave Blackhurst, director of EvolvIT said “over the past six months, we’ve worked closely with the Westward team and have been continually impressed by their dedication to service, technical expertise, and the strong relationships they’ve built with their clients. This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter – one that brings together the best of both organisations. For Westward’s clients, it means access to a wider range of resources, enhanced support capabilities, and the continued personal service they’ve come to expect. We look forward to a bright future together and are committed to ensuring a smooth and beneficial transition for everyone involved.”
